We woke up to the start of our journey this year to the following:
Colorado has an attitude during the spring. Oh well. This morning we bath and dry dogs in the house to get ready for the show, pack our rented home for the next 5 days and head to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin to the 2013 USCA Sieger show. We are very excited to have entered this competition and hope for only the best. The words of Robert Frost come to mind as we drink our final cups of coffee… ” The woods are lovely, dark, and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep.”
Remember this year the USCA is streaming the competition LIVE online. Please follow this link and watch for Team Dortmunder’s dark green t-shirts with the Lime Green dog. We know they look a little black in the following photos but promise they are a nice forest green in the sunshine.
5/9-We started our trip in snow and drove through driving rain all night to reach Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Everyone was beat but glad to be at our temporary home for a few days. We started immediately with Practice bite work for both Hoss and Emster, which went very well! We headed to our rooms for some much needed rest and await the start of the show!
5/10- Morning was still cold and wet for everyone. We enjoyed a lovely view for breakfast but not for too long. Hoss and Emster both passed bite work though!
We moved on to Shyzza’s class. It’s too bad her ear were not standing up. She placed in the middle of the pack but did very well for her first show.
Next up was Yeska and Quintessa’s Classes. They too placed near the middle of their classes but there was a LOT of beautiful competition for these young girls.
5/11- Narkia came home with our friends from Germany, Michael and Willie. She’s been working hard overseas and was very eager to show us her awesome bite work! We’re very glad to have her back!
Even though we didn’t place highly we still had a wonderful time at the Sieger show! Thanks to everyone and all our dogs that made this possible!
